Prototypes and technical savviness

Clickable prototypes

A clickable prototype is usually a simplified but interactive version of the intended design solution for the purposes of usability testing with sample users &/or showcasing ideas with project stakeholders or the wider project group.

I have produced clickable prototypes for web and mobile app projects using Adobe Fireworks and Axure. I've also worked with InVision which I've found to be very good for mobile/tablet app prototyping on account of the ease in which touch based gestures can be incorporated.

Technical skills

Prior to focusing my career on user experience design in late 2005 I worked as a freelance website designer for a period of 4 years.

The skills and experience gained during this phase of my career have proved to be invaluable for my UX work as they have greatly increased my ability to propose realistic, feasible design solutions based on the technology platform being utilised for a given project.

My development skills can be summarised as follows:

HTML and CSS

Basic development experience

Javascript

Elementary development experience

AJAX

Elementary development experience

Server side and databases
